Canajoharie's East Hill Elementary school has adopted an integrated approach to library instruction for the 2016-2017 year. What does that mean for your students? All students in Kindergarten through fifth grade will have a scheduled time for picking out books on a weekly basis. Ms. Maldonado will also be working with each teacher to develop lessons that tie information literacy to the subjects your children are studying in the classroom. This is an exciting change! Research has shown that learning about information literacy and inquiry is best supported by integrating instruction with classroom subjects.
